Below you will find links to the Sowing the Seeds Ministry curriculum. There is also a facilitator’s guide, reproducible handouts for participants, a power point presentation that can be used to facilitate the group and a copy of the entire curriculum. The curriculum is flexible enough for you to adapt it to your needs, so please feel free to do so.

Just a few points…

  • This is designed to last six weeks, or six sessions that last no more than one hour.
  • The facilitator can be a lay person, but the authors intended groups to be lead by a pastor.
  • Participant handouts are reproducible. It is the responsibility of the participant to come to each session prepared to discuss the selected reading.
  • There is a short evaluation at the end of the curriculum. Please send it back to Peace with Justice Ministries (address can be found on the evaluation sheet).
  • There is a section titled Facilitator’s Resources. This is meant to provide the necessary information for policy discussions. If you need further help in these discussions, please call the Center for Rural Affairs, 402-687-2100.
  • Farm Programs – Traci Bruckner, John Crabtree, or Chuck Hassebrook
  • Microenterprise support – Jon Bailey
  • Sowing the Seeds Curriculum – Carol Windrum (phone: 402-455-4281 or cawindrum@yahoo.com) Carol is one of the authors of the curriculum and is the director of Peace with Justice Ministries in Nebraska or myself.
  • Follow the links below to download a pdf copy of the entire curriculum or each session and the accompanying handouts individually.

When you are finished with the six sessions

  • Please consider starting another group or passing the guide on to a participant(s) to lead another group(s).
  • Consider sharing the list of participants with the Center for Rural Affairs so we can keep them abreast of the issues that require grassroots action. Enclosed you will find postcards that individuals can mail back to the Center for Rural Affairs.
  • This can have a snowball effect as it gains use. Eventually we will all be on the same page and our elected officials will have to listen to their rural constituents. We hope you can use this tool as rural voices need to be heard now more than ever.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this curriculum. If we are all on the same page, our elected officials will have to start listening and taking action on behalf of rural America.

    Thanks!
